Through out the whole municipality there are natural spaces that feature high ecologic values, such as “Las Charcas de Erjos” (Erjos Pools), located among the summits and shared with the neighbouring El Tanque. They are the result of land extraction in an area of impermeable materials, and are of special interest to birds.

On the other hand, the Mountain of Waters (Monte de Aguas) has an important reserve of laurisilva with faya trees and heather, as well as the two pigeon species characteristic of the laurisilva (white tailed laurel pigeon and dark tailed laurel pigeon), the woodcock, as well as numerous other birds and insects.

Its great diversity of flora together with its striking landscapes, highlights an area of rocky terrain.

Teno Rural Park

Is located in the woodsy Mountain of Waters and Trails (Monte de Aguas y Pasos). With an expanse of nearly 800 hectares, it is an enclave of high ecologic values, due to the plant and animal species that make their homes here.
